How to troubleshoot Fault manager (FM) issues in SAP ASE 16.0 environment

BHADR and CHADR:

there are 2 modes to run Fault Manager CHADR and BHADR:
In CHADR mode the ASE installer is used to install Fault Manager. The Fault Manager executable (sybdbfm) is a non Unicode binary and is run in folder FaultManager under $SYBASE.
In the Fault Manager profile (SYBHA.PFL) profile parameter ha/syb/non_bs is set to 1.
CHADR mode must be used for all non Business Suite/ non NetWeaver systems.

In BHADR mode Fault Manger is run from the SAP Kernel within an NetWeaver instance.
The FM is shipped with the Kernel (Unicode version) and installation is done by calling ‘sybdbfm install’ which adds it to an instance profile.
In the Fault Manager profile (SYBHA.PFL) profile parameter ha/syb/non_bs is set to 0 or unset.

Fault Manager does some consistency checks at start up so there will be errors if the profile parameter ha/syb/non_bs is changed.

For HADR with Business Suite/Netweaver it is recommended to use Fault Manager in BHADR mode, but CHADR mode is also supported.

For both CHADR and BHADR refer to documentation about Fault Manager also to the HADR Users Guide.
