Symptom
“Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.“
- Manage Clock In Clock Out shows the status as paired although there is no clock out done by the employee on the same date.
- Clock In Clock Out time events are incorrectly paired.
Environment

Reproducing the Issue
- Create Clock In Clock Out Group (e.g. Same Pairing Group) as shown below in Admin Center > Configure Clock In Clock Out.
- Hire an employee.
- Assign Clock In Clock Out Group as 'Same Pairing Group' in employee's Job Information Portlet.
- Now go to Admin Center > Manage Clock In Clock Out.
- Employee clocks in on Jul 27, 2022, 8:46:17 AM.
- Employee forgot to clock out.
- Next Day, the employee clocks in i.e. Jul 28, 2022, 7:46:32 AM.
- Then, Employee clocks out on Jul 28, 2022, 5:47:14 PM.
- Here you can clearly see that the employee has not clocked out on Jul 27, 2022 but still the status of time event shows as Paired.
Cause
Related to Configuration in Configure Clock In Clock Out
Resolution
- Go to Admin Center > Configure Clock In Clock Out.
- Click on Settings
- Check if 'Enable pairing of Time Events of the same Time Event Type' checkbox is ticked.

Time Events Pairing
Select this option to enable pairing of time events of the same time event type. For example, when you enable this setting, two time events of the same time event type that are recorded one after the other are paired together to form a Time Event pair.
Note
If this option is not selected, the pairing will not happen and is highlighted as an error on the Manage Clock In Clock Out page and the Time Sheet UI.
