3231525 - Clock In time event has status Paired despite there is no Clock Out entry

• In Manage Clock In Clock Out transaction the Clock In time event has status paired although there is no Clock Out time event on the same day.
• Clock In time events are incorrectly paired.

SAP SuccessFactors Time Tracking – Clock In Clock Out

1. Employee clocked in on Jul 27, 2022, 8:46:17 AM.
2. Employee forgot to clock out.
3. Next Day, the employee clocked in i.e. Jul 28, 2022, 7:46:32 AM.
   
4. Here you can clearly see that the employee has not clocked out on Jul 27, 2022 but CLOCK IN on Jul 27 is still shown as paired, although there is no CLOCK OUT on Jul 27.

This is due to configuration that pairing of time events of the same time event type is enabled.
You can find the setting by following below steps.

1. Go to Admin Center > Configure Clock In Clock Out.
2. Click on Settings
3. Check if 'Enable pairing of Time Events of the same Time Event Type' checkbox is ticked.
    

• When this option is active, it is expected that two time events of the same type (for example, two clock-in events) will be paired if they occur within a 24-hour period.
• By default, pairing will not happen if:
  • Both events are of the STOP type (e.g. clock-out)
    or
  • If the time events are more than 24 hours apart.
• If you do not want the clock-in from the previous day to be paired with the clock-in from the next day, please turn off the option "Enable pairing of Time Events of the same Time Event Type".
