Symptom
You are trying to create New Supplier Delivery Notification and when the screen is loading, you can see the Actual Delivery Date field appears. However, once the New Supplier Delivery Notification screen is fully loaded, the field is no longer visible. You believe this is a bug and you want this to be fixed so you can edit the Actual Delivery Date during the creation of the New Supplier Delivery Notification.
Environment
SAP Business ByDesign
Reproducing the Issue
- Navigate to the Inbound Logistics work center.
- Go to the Purchase Orders view.
- Find and select any Purchase Order and click 'New Supplier Delivery Notification'.
- You can see that the Planned Delivery Date and Actual Delivery Date are shown during the loading, but disappear when the screen is fully loaded.
Cause
This is how the system behaves. The field is in the floor plan (OIF) for the screen so when the OIF is being loaded, the logic to display individual fields is being processed. This is the same behavior in many screens, not just the new Inbound Delivery Notification screen.
The rule to display the "actual delivery date" is based off the release status of the Inbound Delivery Notification. When creating a New Supplier Delivery Notification, obviously it is not released and therefore the field is not visible.
Resolution
As this is the current system behaviour, in order to achieve your requirement, we would like to recommend for you to directly get in contact with the decision makers in SAP Product Management who are responsible for functional enhancement.
