• Model import with TGZ file fails with error "[Object ID] already exist." in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)
• First try of the model import failed after 5 minutes with error: "502 Bad Gateway: Registered endpoint failed to handle the request.", and the package with the model was still processing for more than 24 hours.
• When trying to re-import the same model (even with "Update existing object" or "Drop Object"), system returns an error that the model was already created: Error: [Object ID] already exists.
• However, the model does not exist in files folder, under model or under any other folder.
• It seems that it is stuck somewhere in the database.

SAP Analytics Cloud (Enterprise) 2022.08.17

1. Login to SAC tenant.
2. Go to Transport - Import - File System.
3. Try to import the TGZ file created as per KBA 2538909 - topic "Using the Transport (file) Method (zipped / .TGZ files)".
4. Upload - Select Source File - Upload - OK.
5. Import.
6. Select import options e.g. "Update existing object" and "Drop Objects".
7. OK => import process ends with error message: "[Object ID] already exist."

In the export package there are many schedules with complex mappings for the model which results in a big json size of the model of approx. 40 MB in the export file.

This causes the import to take longer to process and can result in the reported timeout with error 502 - Bad Gateway.

Unfortunately, these timeouts can lead to an inconsistency of the model on the target system.

When exporting, the data import schedules are also exported.

Delete outdated schedules in the source system manually and then export the model again. This should reduce the overall runtime of the import and the import should complete successfully.
