3232477 - No Error message when using Spot Award Mass Upload if nominator is not permissioned - Reward and Recognition

Symptom

When using the new Spot Award Mass Upload feature introduced in 1H 2022, it does not produce an error message when the nominator isn't eligible, despite the What's New article and the Implementation Guide suggesting that "If a nominee or nominator isn’t eligible to give or receive an award, an error message is generated when trying to upload."

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Admin Center > Compensation Reward and Recognition
  2. Click on Manage Spot Awards
  3. Click Download a blank CSV file
  4. enter a row with a valid nominee, but make the nominator someone who does not have permissions for Reward and Recognition
  5. Save
  6. go back to the Manage Spot Awards page
  7. click Browse, select your CSV file
  8. Hit Import -- no error messages are generated

Cause

This is expected behavior. As per Product Management team:

"nominator permission won't be checked and only nominees permission will be checked".

Resolution

Please ensure that nominators used in the Mass Upload CSV file are all valid, as no checks will be done. We will update all relevant documentation at a later date and correct the clerical error.
