3232915 - Changing Sales Quote Validity Date also changes Requested Date

Symptom

The Requested Date in a Sales Quote gets defaulted as per the Business Configuration settings for determination of the Validity Date.

Environment

 SAP Business ByDesign

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Business Configuration Work Center.
  2. Navigate to Overview View.
  3. Search for Date Profiles and open it.
  4. In Quote Validity = Creation Date + Number of Days, Set number of days to N days (N represents the number of days).
  5. Save and Close.

Next, create a new Sales Quote as follows:

  1. Go to New Business Work Center.
  2. Navigate to Sales Quote View.
  3. Click New -> Sales Quote.
  4. In the new Quote it's seen that both the Validity date and the Requested date are the same, and is set to a date that equals Creation Date + N days.

As per the settings in the Business Configuration you expected only the Validity date to be set to the date that equals Creation Date + N days.

Cause

Requested Date is read from what is maintained on the Validity Date of the Sales Quote.

Resolution

This is the current designed system behaviour. You can change the defaulted Requested Date manually to some other date as per requirement.
