3233274 - Tax Authority Error Tax number already exists when adding Tax Number

When attempting to add a Tax Number to a Tax Authority, you get the error Tax number already exists.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to the Tax Management Work Center.
2. Select Tax Authorities.
3. Search for ID XXX(XXX represents the tax authority ID).
4. Navigate to Company tax arrangement tab.
5. Go to the Tax numbers sub tab.
6. Add row for 5-Tax Number and put ABC(ABC represents the Tax Number ID).
7. Finally press Enter.

Result: Error Tax number already exists

You cannot add any Tax Number Type with the same Tax Number as an existing entry. This will lead to this specific error and is expected. For example, you already have the same data for Vat Registration number, hence you cannot add the same for Tax number.

This is expected and is the standard system behavior. You cannot use the same data for Tax number and any other Tax Number Type already saved in Company Tax Arrangement.
