3233649 - Error in Data Source or Report - "TREX-ERROR (1699)"

Symptom

While previewing a Data Source or executing a Report, system displays the following error messages:

  • "TREX error occurred"
  • "TREX-ERROR (1699): Error during deserialization/Overflow converting from 'ABC' [XSLT Info: CLASSNAME = CX_SY_CONVERSION_OVERFLOW, PARAMNAME ="
  • "No connection to search engine"

Environment

  • SAP Cloud for Customer
  • SAP Business ByDesign

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Business Analytics work center.
  2. Open the report from Design Reports view, or your Data Source from the Design Data Sources view.
  3. Execute the Report or Data Source.

System displays the error message.

Cause

One cell in reporting supports up to 17 digits (for integer values). In this case, a key figure contains a value with more than 17 digits which causes the error.

This can occur when the selection isn’t restricted, causing certain key figures to include excessively large values.

Resolution

Please maintain a selection before executing the Report or Data Source. This ensures that the values are not too large (under 17 digits).
