3234271 - Time Account Type Eligibility Status Check Tool Checks - 2H 2022

Symptom

With the 2H 2022 enhancement of the new HANA view for determining Accrual Eligibility Status (TIM-31236), we no longer use the MDF object to read the eligibility status. It is now determined at runtime during the accrual creation process.

With this enhancement we will also deliver two new check tool checks:

Checks Tool Checks:

  • Time Off > Time Account Type > Shows the eligible periods for getting accruals
  • Time Off > Time Account Type > Shows why an employee is not eligible

Please see further details on the new HANA view for determining Accrual Eligibility Status in our Blog: Migration of Time Account Type Eligibility Status to SAP HANA View Second Half 2022 Release - Innovation Alert

Resolution

Check  - Shows the eligible periods for getting accrual

You can choose parameters User (optional), Time Account Type, and Start - End date (mandatory), or you can fill only the time account type and time period:

Result example:

Please note: Only if you encounter issues during accrual creation process, you need to check if the eligibility status was correct. For that, you need to use the above check tool check TimeAccountTypeNonEligibleDetails provided and follow the proposed solution to fix the issue.

As noted in the "Proposed Solution" text, if you have made any corrections to the Time Off Configuration, Time Profile, Time Account Type or Waiting period after checking the results, you need to trigger an accrual recalculation by creating a Time Management Recalculation Event (TMRE).

Time Management Recalculation Events:

TMRE's can be run per user (recommended in this case), per Time Profile, Time Recording Profile or Holiday Calendar.

If you want to trigger a mass recalculation of accruals for all users belonging to a particular time profile, you can choose Target Type = Time Profile.

Steps:

  • Navigate to Admin Center > Manage Data
  • Choose Create New > Time Management Recalculation Event
  • When creating the TMRE for this scenario, you should choose Event Type = "Recalculate Accruals".
  • Please see the options under "Target Type" field and select as required (User is recommended here)
  • Status should be set to "To Be Processed"
  • Start Job on Save = "Yes" to trigger the recalculation on Save

  • For further details on how to create Time Management Recalculation Event via Manage Data, please see the Guide.

Additional Notes:

From 2H 2022, with this new view for determining Accrual Eligibility Status, it is therefore no longer required to run the Data Retention Management tool for updating Eligibility Status, since the eligibility status is calculated directly during the accrual creation process.

You can use the check tool checks as described in this KBA to identify why a certain employee is not eligible for accruals, or to identify from which date onwards they are eligible.
