Applies To:
CPQ, Salesforce
Summary:
This article will show you how to setup extra security measures for CPQ and Salesfore integration.
Details:
This field allows setting extra security measures between CPQ and Salesforce integration. User can define a password in the URL used for the custom link to access CPQ. This password, set under the apiPass element, is checked against the password entered in this field. This acts as an extra security measure to ensure that there is no unauthorized access to CPQ.
Solution/Workaround:
Configuring setting in CPQ:
1. Setting can be found in "General" tab under CRM Integration (Setup > CRM Integration > General).
2. Within the General Tab, find the field, "Security Password for Verifying Entrance to CPQ through Salesforce backdoor".
3. Enter in a secure password for this field.
4. Hit save when completed.
Configuring setting in Salesforce:
1. After CPQ settings has been configured, go into your Visualforce Pages within Salesforce (this should be set up during Salesforce integration with CPQ). (Setup > Build > Develop > Pages).
2. Open up the pages that you have created. (i.e. CPQQuoteNew)
3. Replace the highlighted section in green below with the password that you have entered in CPQ (Step 3 of "Configure this setting in CPQ " above).
4. Hit save when completed.
5. Test connection by trying to enter CPQ from Salesforce.
Comments:
-If field, "Security Password for Verifying Entrance to CPQ through Salesforce backdoor", is left blank in CPQ; default apiPass is "password".
-If "apiPass" password does not match password setup in CPQ, you will not be able to enter CPQ from Salesforce. You will recieve the following error message and your connection will continue to loop.
