Summary:
How to make the Quote Comment field editable
Details:
On some environments, certain users may see that the Quote Comment field is grayed out and un-editable as seen in the following screenshot. The Quote Comment Field can be found in Cart Fields Administration as a “Total” field titled “Total – CartComment”. This field needs to be added to a Editable Field Group associated with the appropriate User Type and Quote status in order to be made editable.
Solution/Workaround:
- Make a note of the Status the quote is in where you want to enter a comment as well as your User Type when trying to do so.
- Click on Setup > Pricing/Calculations > Cart Fields Administration.
- Find where the Status and User Type that you made note of from step 1 intersect, and click the Edit icon.
(In the screenshot below, we assume that you want quotes in “Open” Status to be editable to the User Type “Sales”) - Find and select the “Total – CartComment” field from Available Fields and Calculations, choose an Editable Field Group where you want to add the “Total – CartComment” field and click the green down arrow to add it.
Note: The “Total – CartComment” field doesn’t need calculations associated with it to run. You can add the field to a group all by itself if you’re unsure of where you want to place it. - Click Save, and exit Setup.
You should now be able to edit the Quote Comment field.
