This article is to show you how to map CPQ Customer Custom Fields to Salesforce Fields using Customer Roles Mapping.


Details:
Mapping for Customer Custom/Standard Fields can be done in the Customer Roles Mapping administrative section; which allows you to setup mapping for these fields on customer roles to Salesforce opportunity.

 

Solution/Workaround:
In this example, we'll create a new customer custom field (Jason Test) and map it to a salesforce account field (Billing Street).

1. First, create a new customer custom field in CPQ. You may do so by accessing your "Customer Custom Field" section in your admin setup.

 

 

2. Once on the "Customer Custom Fields" page, click on "Add New" to create a new customer custom field.

 

 

3. Fill in the yellow highlighted area to create new customer custom field.

For our example, we filled in the following values:

Name: Jason Test

Label: Jason Test

Role Type: BillTo

 

4. Once custom field is created, you are now ready to map this field. In order to do so, you will need to access the "Customer Roles Mapping" section in CPQ.

 

 

5. On "CRM Application Parameters » Mappings » Customer Roles" page, pull in the salesforce objects where the salesforce fields is located. Click on "Continue to Fields Level Mappings" when done.

 

6. On the following page, find your custom field that you had previously created.

 

 

7. Select the appropriate Salesforce object where the mapped field is located.

For our example, select ""Account":

 

8. Click on "CRM Lookup" and find your Salesforce field for mapping.

For our example, select "BillingState":

9. Click on "Save" when finished.

10. Now, test to see if field is mapped correctly.

Check the value being pulled from Salesforce:

 

Create a new quote on Salesforce and enter CPQ. Once you're on the Quotation Page", select "Customer Info" tab to see your custom field:
