3235021 - Difference in displayed amounts between reports Schedule of Fixed Assets and Trial balance

You compare two reports Schedule of Fixed Assets and Trial balance and found a difference in Ending balance between the reports for a specific range of periods.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to Business analytics work center.
2. Go to Design report view.
3. Search for Trial balance. Open it and enter necessary details including the G/L accounts specific to fixed assets
4. Open a new tab for design report view.
5. Search for Schedule Fixed Assets. Open it and enter necessary details including the Fixed asset classes
6. Compare the values of both reports for a range of periods e.g. 01 to 06(Range can vary based on customer use case)

Correct system behaviour

1. Make sure to untick 'Without Subledger' value under 'Subledger Account Type' field. This creates discrepancy amount as these postings are not subledger specific.
2. Issue could be when the assets are retired, this doesn't show in the schedule of fixed asset reports unless the last period they are valid in is included in the search parameters. However, when there's a posting on that asset e.g. Depreciation in the period range of the Trial balance report, then those values will be shown. This is where the discrepancy happens. Hence a thorough check on assets have to be made and then the reports have to be compared.
