3235278 - Extension Field from Work Agreement is not Available in WSDL of Replicate Employee Master Data Scenario

You are trying to set up Employee Master Data replication from external system (master) to SAP Business ByDesign. All configuration are in place and the process is working. However extension fields (created in adaptation mode) from "Work agreement - Work Agreement" are missing :

• They are not present in WSDL of Replicate Employee from External service
• We can not find the service in Adaptation Mode > Show Further Usage > Services

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to Application and User Management and select Communication Arrangements
2. Open the Communication Arrangement Employee Replication from SAP Business Suite
3. In Inbound Communication Services select the option Download WSDL
4. Open the WSDL file
5. The extension field you have created is not available

AND :

1. Go to Employees and open an employee personal file
2. Switch to Adaptation Mode
3. Open Employment tab and select "Unamed group" > Extension Fields
4. Select Grade field and click on Show Further Usage
5. Open Extension Scenario and Sevices tab

The field was not extended properly because it was not added to the right section of employee master data i.e. personal data section.

Since the work agreement and other objects are used internally to store employee data and these are different from the staging area where we store the replicated file before it gets processed and saved in the work agreement and other employee related data.

The web service which is used for replication is built on top of the staging area (Complete Employee Data Replication ). So only the extension fields which are added in Complete employee data replication will be available in the web service as mentioned in the KBA: 2439489 - Extension Field is not Available in WSDL of Employee Replication

And currently only personal data fields are available for extension in the staging area (Complete Employee Data Replication). In case customer wants to add some other fields then can try the PDI based approach for the same.

You must create the extension field in Personal Data section of Employee Replication Request.
