Symptom
Posting Block field is not editable (greyed out) for billing types in configuration step Define Billing Types (configuration step ID 102402), even in change mode.

Environment
SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition
Reproducing the Issue
- Open app Manage Your Solution.
- Go to Configure Your Solution.
- Access the configuration step Define Billing Types (configuration step ID 102402).
- Posting Block field in section General Control is not editable (greyed out).
In case SAP Central Business Configuration (CBC) is being used:
- Log on to the project experience in SAP Central Business Configuration.
- In the Product-Specific Configuration phase, navigate to the Configurations Activity tab.
- Search for Define Billing Types configuration activity.
- Select the Define Billing Types activity.
- Choose Go to Activity to navigate directly to the SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition system.
- Posting Block field under General Control is not editable (greyed out).
Cause
This is a standard behavior in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition. This Posting Block field cannot be edited for the billing types.
Resolution
If it is necessary to block the automatic posting of billing documents, the following two options can be followed:
1. Proceed as follows:
- Open app Create Billing Documents
- Billing Due List is displayed
- Choose Billing Settings
- Turn off Automatic posting of billing document
2. Automatic posting of Billing Document can also be stopped through the Flexible Billing Document Posting configuration steps in Custom Adaptations for Integration of Billing with Financial Accounting in Manage Your Solution/CBC Configuration Actity.
