3235502 - Importing does not support uploading custom-string with type 'Employee' when is inactive user

Symptom

Error while validating and importing a file that contains a custom-string labeled as XXX: "[XXX is invalid.]" even though it works by UI.

That custom-string field is configured as 'Employee' (BCUI) or 'worker' (Data Model).

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Access the instance
  2. Go to Import Employee Data
  3. Choose 'Job History' Entity Data
  4. Click on 'Validate Import File Data'
  5. Will fail with a message that the field is invalid.

Cause

The user that is being set on the custom field by importing is an inactive user.

Resolution

Currently is not supported to do this action by import since the user isn't active.

This is to preventing invalid data from being inserted into the database.
