3236059 - Indentity Jump after Dump and Load from SAP ASE 16.0 SP04 PL02 to SAP ASE 16.0 SP03 PL09

Symptom

Identity Jump while inserting a dump from from SAP ASE 16.0 SP04 PL02 to SAP ASE 16.0 SP03 PL09

Context:

  • following are the events that happened with respect to identity changes.

    1. Initially both servers were at "16.0 SP03 PL09 ", no issues were observed while testing after identity columns were altered. 
    2. Then one of the 2 servers was patched with "16.0 SP04 PL02", no identity issues then.
    3.  Alter tables/identity column were implemented beforehand in the server which is still at "16.0 SP03 PL09" . It was in replicated environment as a REPLICATE database and did not see any issues. (still identity changes are pending in PRIMARY production server in replicated environment). 
    4. After alter identity column(s) was implemented in one of the REPLICATE server, while using those database dump in  server which is at "16.0 SP04 PL02 " cropped up this identity jump issue.
