3236270 - Requests to upload XML Templates via Provisioning - SAP SuccessFactors

You downloaded and modified a template XML and asked SAP Product Support to uploaded it into the system, however, your request has been rejected.

When a customer provides an XML for SAP Product Support to upload in the system, there is no validation or review performed when performing this action. Therefore, there is a high risk of introducing undesired configuration that can cause unexpected behaviors or data corruption in the template. For this reason, SAP Product Support will not address this request.

If you want to make changes in a template XML and upload the file into the system, there are some options you can turn to:

• Request each supported change individually as per our Software Change Request (SCR) process, then Support will do both the change in the XML and the upload. Please kindly check the KB Articles below to review our supported Software Change Requests:

If you want to download an XML from a Test instance and upload it in Production (or vice versa), it is possible to copy and transport the template from one tenant to another using Configuration Center. For a detailed procedure, please refer to the KB Articles below:

If you need assistance on downloading a template XML that is available only in Provisioning, such as a Goal Plan Template, SAP Product Support can provide the file to you, but it will not be possible to re-import it in case it's needed.

NOTE: While these type of requests have been allowed in the past, it's not within Support Scope to ensure the quality of the template being uploaded. Although we understand that you wish for this action to be done and you are confident that the template you are asking to upload has been edited in a manner where no errors or issues exist, it is difficult to be absolutely sure. It is not certain that all such requests created adhere to the same high standards and accuracy. To ensure balance and consistency of service across all customers and to minimize risk associated with incorrect configurations, it is ultimately in a customer's best interest to work with a Partner to complete these types of requests.
