3236580 - SAP IQ 16.1 SP05 Windows Installer fails Installing SAP Java Runtime Environment 8...Status: FATAL ERROR

• Running the setup.exe SAP IQ installer for IQ 16.1 SP05 and above fails with FATAL  ERROR during the Installing SAP Java Runtime Environment 8 section.

Additional Notes: FATAL ERROR - class com.sybase.ia.ia_db.RunComponentInstallerAction FatalInstallException: SAP Java Runtime Environment 8 installation failed. See log file D:\xxxx\xxxx\log\jre8.log for details.

• No jre8.log is produced , however in the jre8.out file that is produced the Fatal Error prints a Java stack with these errors reported 

Invocation of this Java Application has caused an ExceptionInInitializerError. This application will now exit. (LAX)

Caused by: java.lang.SecurityException: The jurisdiction policy files are not signed by the expected signer! (Policy files are specific per major JDK release.Ensure the correct version is installed.)
 ... etc.

• The setup.exe has been correctly invoked as per installation instructions. The  compatibility mode property has been set to Windows 7 and the setup.exe has been run as Administrator.

• This only happens when a previous version of SAP IQ (prior to 16.1 SP05) existed in the same install directory. Even if this has been removed using the IQ uninstaller.
