3236709 - Equipment creation in wrong Number range after S/4 HANA Cloud 2208 Upgrade

• After CE2208 upgrade, Equipment numbers getting created in a different series other than what is defined by the customer
• Error 'Number range 01 is full'  IS101 appears converting Planned Order to a Production Order

1. Access the app 'Create Technical Object'
2. Select technical object type “Equipment”
3. Technical Object category “M”
4. Click continue
5. Update other details in required tab
6. Equipment got created in a different number range

Number Range key grouping concept is not supported in S/4HANA Cloud and SAP adjusted the SSCUI (Define Number Ranges for Equipment Categories (SSCUI No - 103091) and removed the feature to create new groups with keys & intervals and also removed the feature to do the assignment/reassignment of NR Groups to Equipment Categories through the mentioned SSCUI. As part of this process, standard content is restructured and customer finetuning for the assignment of the number range keys to equipment categories might get overwritten during CE2208 upgrade.

SAP introduced a new Configuration Activity with default content (Assign Number Ranges to Equipment Categories) and released the new SSCUI (105862) for this activity. This default content for number range assignments to equipment categories will overwrite any finetuning changes (if exists) done by the Customers before 2208 through the SSCUI 103091.

This new SSCUI released in CE2208 Assign Number Ranges to Equipment Categories (Configuration Activity / SSCUI No 105862) which will allow the customer to assign/reassign number range key to equipment categories as this feature was taken off from the other SSCUI 'Define Number Ranges for Equipment Categories'  (Configuration Activity / SSCUI  No 103091)

Please correct the NR key assignment to equipment categories just after CE2208 upgrade using the new SSCUI and release the changes to Productive Environment to make sure that equipment’s are getting created in the expected number range intervals.
