3236834 - Errors When Trying to Finish Production Task

You want to change the status of Task XXX to Finished, however you are facing errors regarding Product YYY, Serial Number ZZZ.

XXX = Task ID.

YYY = Product ID.

ZZZ = Serial Number ID.

SAP Business ByDesign.

1. Go to Production Control work center.
2. Select Task Control view.
3. Search for Task XXX.
4. Select Change Status. 
5. Select Finish.
6. Click Ok.
7. The error is faced:

Parent reference product YYY and reference product YYY cannot be same

Parent Reg Product ZZZ and Parent Ref Product YYY resulting in cycle

Save failed

The issue is with the same Serial Number ZZZ used in Input and Output Product. In the Bill of Operation, the Output Product is YYY.

And you have added product YYY manually as an input product.

In this case it is suggested that you revert the Confirmations already created for the Task XXX and confirm it again with a different Serial Number.

The use case itself is only allowed when the products are not serialized.
