How does the Use email as external applicant user ID works?

When External applicant user ID is enabled, some candidates are created without email address in their profile.

In creating candidate profile, it is the username or primary email will be the unique identifier of the system. The system will give error if existing value is provided by candidate during account creation. This field is not editable.

When Use email as external applicant user ID is not enabled, the system will ask for a username. The system will accept alphanumeric and special characters. The Recruiting Email Trigger "Career Site Email Notification" must be enabled to allow the candidate to retype their email. If Career Site Email Notification is not enabled, the candidate may skip providing a valid email during creation.

When Use email as external applicant user ID is enabled, candidate email will be their username or primary email. During creation, the primary email is same as contact email. Primary email cannot be modified while contact email can be updated if the candidate has permission.
