3237894 - Error While Trying to Modify Withholding Tax Type and Rate Type Through Mass Data Maintenance for Suppliers

When you are trying to modify Withholding Tax Type and Rate Type through mass data maintenance for suppliers, there was a problem with the data import with the following error

"Script changes failed"

 SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to Mass Data Maintenance work center

2. Go to Mass Data Maintenance work center view

3. Select Import Suppliers link

4. Execute Data Import Immediately

Error occurs "Script changes failed"

These errors occur as the tax type is a part of the record key and the record key update from Mass Data Maintenance is not supported.

The supplier withholding tax type cannot be updated through mass data maintenance. Since the tax type is a part of the record key, updating the tax type actually involves deleting the previous version and creating a new one.

Technically, the Mass Data Maintenance does not allow for this.

You can only modify the tax rate type using the Mass Data Maintenance.
