3239168 - Creating iView for SAP BusinessObjects Document Viewer Template in MS Edge / Chrome not possible

Symptom

While working with iViews on SAP NW Enterprise portal with SAP BusinessObjects BI Platform  

  • When using Chrome or MS Edge browsers, you are not able to create an iView from the iview template
    "SAP BusinessObjects Document Viewer Template"(pcd:portal_content/com.sap.pct/every_user/BusinessObjects/iViews/BusinessObjects_Document_Viewer_Template)
  • However when using IE11, the iview creation is possible and everything works as expected. However IE11 is end of support since June 2022.
  • When using Chrome or MS Edge, and while creating a document viewer iView, after providing a CUID, neither the Next or Finish buttons work. 
  • The issue happens despite following best practices according to KBA 1694773 - Integrating SAP Netweaver 7.3+ portal with BI using a BOBJ template and iview - BI 4.x.
