3240224 - How to change the currency rates table for a model

Symptom

  • A wrong rate table is mapped to a model accidentally and you want to map the correct one to the model.
  • The option to select the rate table is grayed out and cannot change in Model Preference > Currency > Currency Conversion Settings > Currency Rates Table.

Environment

  • SAP Analytics Cloud (Enterprise) 2022.15.7

Reproducing the Issue

Once the rate table is set, the option to select the rate table is grayed out and cannot change in Model Preference > Currency > Currency Conversion Settings > Currency Rates Table.

Cause

If there is transaction data in the model, the rate table for the model cannot be changed.

Resolution

To map the rate table to another one, transaction data needs to be removed. Then switch OFF currency conversion(Model Preference > Currency > Currency Conversion Settings > Currency Rates Table), and save the model.
Open again Model Preference > Currency > Currency Conversion Settings > Currency Rates Table, and now you can select another rate table by turning on currency conversion.
After the correct rate table is set for the model, transaction data need to be loaded to the model.

NOTE: Please create a copy of the model or create a backup(create a tgz file from Transport > Export) of the model before you remove transaction data, and test the steps on non Production system first.
