Symptom
A predefined modeling check reported a Process Structure error:
"SAP Signavio Process Governance BPMN 2.0 conventions violation found (This attribute value of 'task type' is not supported by SAP Signavio Process Governance.)"
What is wrong with it and what should I do now?
Resolution
If you received this error message, you have tested your process against 'SAP Signavio Process Governance BPMN 2.0 conventions' and didn't set the main attribute field 'Task type':
This check verifies if your diagram can be executed in Process Governance/Workflow Accelerator, since Workflow Accelerator does not support all BPMN elements. Secondly it proves if the task type is not empty, because that information defines, which activity type with all its functions will be used for Workflow Accelerator. If you want to publish your diagram to Workflow Accelerator you have to choose the task type for every activity.
In general you can test your model with different conventions. We recommend Best Practices for BPMN 2.0. If you have administrator rights you can adjust the conventions by yourself and choose what should be recognized as a critical error and what is correct. To do so go in Signavio Explorer to Setup --> Define modeling conventions. There you can activate/deactivate the conventions and create your own.
You can find more information about conventions in our manual.
