3242847 - I receive the error message 'The resource has been deleted or you do not have permission to access it.'

Symptom

After logging on to our workspace or after clicking the 'Trash' icon in explorer I received the following error message:

'The resource has been deleted or you do not have permission to access it.'

Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.

Resolution

This message can appear under one of the following scenarios:

Following a link

When you use a link in your browser, which directs to a folder / diagram in the Signavio Explorer, when the diagram / folder doesn't exist anymore or when your access rights are restricted or removed.

A typical case is you bookmark a link to a folder or diagram, in Signavio Explorer or the web browser to have quick access to it. Afterwards the folder have been deleted and the link is aiming to a non-existing entry or the access for the folder have been restricted for the user.

Such a link could look like this: https://editor.signavio.com/p/explorer#/directory/2309872842837fsdghds3ez832er32r32

Selecting the trash icon in explorer

Another case occurs if the following are all true.

  1. Files/folders have been deleted in the past.
  2. Those files/folders haven't been emptied from the trash.
  3. You no longer have R W D permissions on those deleted files/folders.

This is a known issue and has already been forwarded to our developers to get this fixed. If you are affected by this issue and want to be kept up to date about this issue, please create a ticket in our Support Portal and reference the ticket number SPM-5354.

Workaround, temporarily provide full R W D permissions back to the user, empty the trash and then revert permissions back.
