3243332 - When using SAP Signavio Collaboration Hub and creating a Quick Model, where are my files saved?

Symptom

We have noticed an inconsistency in Collaboration Hub behaviour when 'Create' for QuickModels and where the models are saved.

In some scenarios the user is prompted with 'Where do you like to save your document?' and in other's they aren't.

We are trying to understand why this inconsistency is so (as it needs to be explained to users when we train them).

Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.

Resolution

It will depend on the location of the hub user and the permission the user has in the current folder whether the dialog box appears.

The hub user will only see the 'Where do you like to save your document?' dialog box because they have started creation from the Colloboration Hub Homepage, or are in a folder that they only have Read (R) rights to.

If the dialog box appears the hub user will be able to save to any folder they have Write (W) access to.

If the hub user is in a folder that they have Write (W) access to, the dialog box will not appear and the file will be created in that folder.

If the hub user is part of the Administrator group, this user has Read (R), Write (W), Delete (D) rights and they can create in any folder, in any location, therefore they won't see the dialog box and the file will be saved in the current location.

"If you don't have write access to the folder you are currently viewing, a dialog prompts you to select a saving location before the editor opens."
