3243538 - Action code is empty for the newly added line item in Out put XML of Purchase order

You want to know why new item creation is not appearing in change out put form of purchase order.

SAP Business ByDesign

1.Create order and order it

2.Add new item in order and approve it.

3.Check the out put history and view the XML of changed PO out put

You will see that the action code for newly added item is Not appearing

When a new item goes to approval then the action code would be set if it were possible to to have output when in approval.

For example, if we create a new Item (without sending an update) & the perform a Preview, the action code is present.

But when PO comes out of approval there is an update to that item (Status) so it's not considered new or considered a new action.

This is a  known limitation on ByDesign side.

Currently, it is not possible to determine the newly added item and the original item once the PO is approved during the reapproval scenario.

Note: when changes  are made to existing item then those will show the action code '2' in XML  as expected  for respective item.

also when you add new line items and no reapprovals exist then you will see the action code 1 in XML as expected

Our developers analyzed the issue in depth and the results are as follows:

While the purchase order is still in approval, it is technically possible to distinguish between the newly added line and the other lines, but when the purchase order approval is approved, it is technically not possible to differentiate between them, which is the current technical restriction of the system.

If you really need to distinguish new and other lines on the form for purchase orders with an approval process, you can try to do a secondary development of this with help of partners.

 Since this feature is not supported in the current release of SAP Business ByDesign.
