Symptom

ALTER DATABASE UPGRADE statement for upgrade diffed with the readme for SP/PL and SAP IQ document.

      * Upgrading Simplex

       1. Shut down all affected SAP IQ servers.
          See "Stopping an SAP IQ Server" in the SAP IQ Installation and 

         Configuration Guide.

       2. Back up the databases and any modified files in the 

         $IQDIR16 directory.

       3. Uninstall the current version of SAP IQ. See the SAP IQ 

         Installation and Configuration Guide for the uninstall process.

       4. Install this update.

       5. Verify that this support package has been installed correctly by 
         checking the version string of the server: start_iq -v2

       6. Start the server and run ALTER DATABASE UPGRADE PROCEDURE ON JCONNECT ON.

    Upgrade the 16.x Database

    Procedure

    1. Do one of the following:

       Option        Description
       ------------- -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
       SAP IQ server In the configuration file, set the -iqro 1 startup flags, then start the SAP IQ server.
       Multiplex     In the configuration file, set the -iqmpx_sn 1 and -iqro 1 startup flags, then start the coordinator on the SAP IQ multiplex.

    2. Start Interactive SQL and connect to the database.

    3. Use ALTER DATABASE UPGRADE to upgrade the database.

       ALTER DATABASE UPGRADE instantiates all binaries and schema changes. To roll back to a previous version, you must restore from backup.

    4. Run sp_iqcheckdb ('allocation database') to verify that there are no errors.

    5. Do one of the following:

       Option        Description
       ------------- -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
       SAP IQ server Shut down and restart the server normally (without the -iqro 1 startup flags).
       Multiplex     Shut down and restart the coordinator normally (without the -iqmpx_sn 1 and -iqro 1 startup flags). Synchronize and restart all multiplex secondary servers.

    6. Back up the database.
