3244900 - Unable to Add Attachments to Cases via Browse Files or via Drag and Drop Option


When creating a new case, you notice that it is not possible to add attachments either via the browse files option or by drag and drop.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Navigate to Case work center.
  2. Click + to create a new case.
  3. Fill in any mandatory detail.
  4. Scroll down until the Attachments section.
  5. Click Browse Files.
  6. Select any file.
  7. Click Ok.
  8. See the file does not appear as added.
  9. Try to add the file by drag and drop.
  10. See the file does not appear as well.


This happens when the MIME type configuration for the attachment file type is missing in the SAP Service Cloud Version 2.


In order to allow the file upload in the case creation, you may follow the steps below:

  1. Navigate to your user profile on the top-right corner of your screen.
  2. Click Settings.
  3. Navigate to All Settings tab.
  4. Under Data Administration, click MIME Types for Attachments.
  5. Add the MIMES for the type of attachments you are looking to use / upload in the cases.
  6. Set them as Allowed.

Once this procedure is followed, the attachments should be added as expected in the case.
