3246311 - Errors Occur While Edit Accrual Method Determination for the Revenue Type 8 - Multi-Customer Projects

You edit the accrual method determination for the revenue type 8 - Multi-Customer Projects and try adding values in the product filed or product category field, when you click enter, errors occur:

Product not allowed for revenue type Multi-Customer Projects.

Product category not allowed for revenue type Multi-Customer Projects.

SAP Business ByDesign.

1. Go to the Business Configuration work center.
2. Go to the Overview view.
3. Find and open the activity Accrual Method Determination.
4. Click add row.
5. Select the Revenue Type 8 - Multi-Customer Projects, select any one of the accrual method.
6. In the Product ID/Product category ID, select any one of the product or product category.
7. Click enter, then you see one of below errors:

• Product not allowed for revenue type Multi-Customer Projects.
• Product category not allowed for revenue type Multi-Customer Projects.

Multi-Customer Project supports revenue recognition which means that you assign accrual methods on project tasks directly.

On project tasks there is no concept of products as you have on sales order items. Please don't get confused by products that you plan on project tasks which are normally the products you consume for the fulfillment of particular tasks.

Do not assign product/product category to the revenue type 8 - Multi-Customer Projects, then it can be saved successfully.
