3246408 - "No logon possible (no hw ID received by mssg server)"

Symptom

The message "No logon possible (no hw ID received by mssg server)" is received while trying to logon to the system through the SAP GUI.

The following entries are written to the work processes' trace files:

M  ***LOG Q16=> ThGetMsHwId, DpMBufHwIdGet ( HWID_MSERR) [thxxmbuf.c   440]
M  *** WARNING => SlicKGetExpirationDate: invalid hardware-key from message server (rc: -1, len: 538976288/11)) [slicch.c     736]

The following error is seen at the Message Server trace file (dev_ms):

[Thr 01] *** ERROR => SlicGetHwId: OS system call uname failed (72 Value too large to be stored in data type) [slichwid_mt. 230]
