3247882 - Troubleshooting email sending failures on SAP Commerce with debug level logging

Symptom

In SAP Commerce Cloud, managing the SMTP server is part of Customer's responsibilities.
After have followed Integrating an Email Service with SAP Commerce Cloud you encounter the following:

Now, emails are failing and you can see logs similar to:

  • "Could not send e-mail pk [<PK>] subject [<Subject>] cause: Sending the email to the following server failed : <SMTP server>:<port> Caused by: <SMTP code>"

or:

  • "Could not send e-mail pk [<PK>] subject [<Subject>] cause: Sending the email to the following server failed : <SMTP_server>:<port>"
