3248377 - Candidates Receive OTP or Reset Password Emails with Delay - Recruiting Management

Symptom

Candidates whose email domains are from Gmx.com or web.de receive reset password or OTP password email on delayed basis. By the time the email is received, the One time passcode gets expired, and candidates cannot create account on External Career site.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to External Career Site
  2. Create a new account by filling in all the details
  3. Hit Submit
  4. Screen shows that One Time Password has been sent to the email address to activate the account
  5. Candidates receives this passcode hours later in their inbox which is then expired

Cause

Our Operations team has confirmed that it is a well known issue with web.de and gmx.com mail providers that they are delaying the inbound emails, sometimes at an extreme level for an unknown reason.

Resolution

Customers need to contact their mail provider to ensure that emails are accepted and delivered without delay.
