3248381 - Fast Entry in Sales Order not Working with Tab Button

Symptom

You are creating a new Sales Order using Fast Entry and when you are trying to move between columns using the Tab button, the system is not working as expected.

Environment

SAP Business ByDesign

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to the Sales Orders work center.
  2. Click New Sales Order from the Common Tasks.
  3. Enter account ABC (ABC represents the ID of the account).
  4. Click Fast Entry.
  5. Adjust the table and add the Quantity column next to the Product ID column.
  6. Type Product ID: XYZ (XYZ represents the ID of the product).
  7. Click the "Tab" button to go to the next column.
  8. Enter quantity 1.
  9. Go to the next line.
  10. Type Product ID: XYZ.
  11. Click the "Tab" button to go to the next column.
  12. Go to the Next line.
  13. Repeat this several times.

It's possible to notice that for some lines you have to click 3 times on the tab button until it goes to the next column and for other lines, clicking once or twice is sufficient.

Cause

We have observed the following behavior:

Clicking Tab 1x -
In this case you hit tab even before system starts to load value help, system simply navigates to quantity column with 1 tab.

Clicking Tab 2x -
Enter product ID and hit Tab first selects data from value help (after data is loaded) and the second tab navigates to quantity column.

Clicking Tab 3x -
In case you hit Tab while value help loads, system still expects 2 tabs - first for selecting data from value help and the second for navigating to quantity column.

Resolution

This is the system expected behavior.
