Symptom

Authorization error occurs while performing below actions:

  • Unable to change the workflow definition for purchase order.
  • Unable to activate/deactivate the workflow definition.
  • OData error 'SWF_FLEX_DEF/028'.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open Manage workflows for purchase orders app.
  2. Try to change a definition.

Resolution

  1. Add the business catalog 'SAP_MM_BC_WRKFLW_CONFIG_PC' to BPC_EXPERT role.
  2. Provide write "Unrestricted" access to the same.
