3249940 - Handshake failure when connecting from PI to C4C

Symptom

  • You have an outbound integration from Process Integration (PI) or Process Orchestration (PO) to C4C (Cloud 4 Customer) using a Receiver Adapter. 
  • C4C Operations have performed the activity of hardening of cipher suites for TLS 1.2 protocol at application layer for your C4C URL.
  • After this, your PI integrations connecting to C4C fail with errors similar to below:
    Failed to call the endpoint: Error in call over HTTP: HTTP 0 null 
    SOAP: Call failed: java.io.IOException: Failed to get the input stream from socket: iaik.security.ssl.SSLException: Peer sent alert: Alert Fatal: handshake failure 
    SOAP: Error occurred: com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException: java.io.IOException: Failed to get the input stream from socket: iaik.security.ssl.SSLException: Peer sent alert: Alert Fatal: handshake failure
