3249992 - DELETE fails with Signal 11 in kbfalloc() - SAP ASE 16.0

Symptom

  • DELETEs fail with an "infected with signal 11" error in the module kbfalloc() followed by a stack trace:

    Current process (0x84305ca) infected with signal 11 (SIGSEGV)
    Address 0x0x0000000001863aca (kbfalloc+0x48a), siginfo (code, address) = (128, 0x(nil))

  • Stack trace includes functions:

    kbfalloc
    ubfallocf
    createpool_n_alloc
    memallocheap
    dol_ncdelete
    dol_delete
    row_delete
    LeDeleteOp::_LeOpNext(ExeCtxt&)
    LeEmitNoSndOp::_LeOpNext(ExeCtxt&)
    LePlanNext
    exec_lava
    s_execute

  • The failed process (spid) cannot be cleanly terminated by ASE:

    Task 138610122 is made zombie because it cannot be cleaned up during its termination. This task may have resources allocated to it.
