3249994 - SUM Phase PREP_INIT/TOOLCHECKXML_UPG error - Tool: disp+work

• During upgrade by Software Update Manager (SUM) tool, it stops in phase PREP_INIT/TOOLCHECKXML_UPG with the following error:

Title: Tools that Failed the Checks  ===

SUM-Phase: PREP INPUT CHECK,'SUBMOD KERNEL SCAN TOOLCHK PRE/SUBMOD KERNEL SCAN TOOLCHK NONSERIAL/TOOLCHECKXML EXE

The upgrade procedure with target release 756 needs a newer version of the tool listed bellow.

Each tool in question was called from the target release kernel in /usr/sap/SID/SUM/abap/exe

Necessary Action:

For the Target Release Kernel:

Download the new unicode tools (database independent or database dependent for SAP HANA DB and operating system Linux X86_64) according to SAP Note 2337629
 and put the archives into the download directory /download/S4HANA2021.
