3250559 - Import Data Paycomponent Recurring error :  The Identifier column is missing from the import file. Please download and use a fresh template.

Symptom

When doing an initial full purge for Paycomponent Recurring, below validation error in screenshot is received:

Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.

Environment

Reproducing the Issue

1. Go to Import Employee Data

2. Select an entity : Pay Component Recurring

3. Purge Type: Full Purge

4. Choose File to upload

5. Import Description 

6. File Encoding 

7. File Locale

8. Real-Time Threshold

9. Validate Import File Data , error received : The Identifier column is missing from the import file. Please download and use a fresh template.

Cause

The error is generic and possible cause is data issue. It should be isolated to find the root cause depending on the error received as you continue to validate the import file until it becomes successful.

Resolution

1. Download a Fresh Template and Validate.

     If still receive the same error, try to upload just one user from the file.

2. For this scenario, with just one user from the upload file ,  a different error is received after validate: 

3. Search for related KBA if a different error is received. Here,we found  KBA 2434802 - Employee Import Error: RBP access denied on user ****** for this element. Please check RBP import configuration.

4. After applying the resolution found in KBA we validate again the import file, but a new error is received as per screenshot below:

5. For this user-id is invalid, checked the user-id column, where the employee is missing the leading zeros: correct Id is 000050

***NOTE: make sure you are using UTF-8 encoding when you get that error if you are using text editor.

User profile: shows 000050

Below is the example upload file where user id is missing the leading zeros as shown in the profile above causing the error:

6. Once the ID is corrected , validate again.

7. Proceed with the upload if the result is successful.
