3251155 - Identity Provisioning job failed with error - "Enter a user name." while provisioning users to AS ABAP system

Symptom

  1. You use default transformation supporting User UUID attribute for AS ABAP system.
  2. The following error occurs while provisioning users to AS ABAP system:
    error=com.sap.security.iag.connector.abap.write.AbapWriteException: IDENTITY_MODIFY function returned response number 279 and errors: Enter a user name.  
    or
    error=com.sap.security.iag.connector.abap.write.AbapWriteException: BAPI_USER_CREATE1 function returned response number 279 and errors
  3. Changing the ips.trace.failed.entity.content to true and run the job again, there is an error with the USERNAME in user data shown in job log.
