The IPS setup for SuccessFactors to IAS user sync involves->

• Setting up a SAP SuccessFactors Source System in IPS, which will read data from SuccessFactors.
  
  • IPS guide on creating SuccessFactors Source system-> SAP SuccessFactors
  • This Source system setup requires a User from SuccessFactors, with specific permission and other configuration requirements. Listed in this guide page
    
    
• Setting up an Identity Authentication Service Target System in IPS, which will write data to IAS.
  
  • IPS guide on creating IAS Target system-> Identity Authentication.
    Note: The transformations provided in this guide is generic and do not cater to the specific requirements of SuccessFactors to IAS user sync. Please check the subsequent section for the same. 
  • This target system setup requires an IAS technical admin user. IAS guide on technical (System) admin creation-> Add Administrators

To this KBA, we have attached two sample IPS configuration JSON files- One for the SuccessFactors Source system and the other for IAS target system .
They can be directly uploaded to any IPS instance to quickly create the Source/Target system with all the Transformations and most of the Properties pre-populated. IPS guide section on this operation-> Export and Import Systems | SAP Help Portal -> Import a System

Important Notes

• These sample files are created with the same default IPS Source & Target configuration that would be generated by the automated IAS upgrade process in SuccessFactors-> 2791410 - Integrating SuccessFactors with Identity Authentication through the Upgrade Center
• Any instance-specific Properties (like- Username, URL, Password) are put as PLACEHOLDER in the sample file. They will need to be replaced with actual values, in accordance to the SuccessFactors & IAS tenants being configured.
• These sample files are only for the configuration within IPS. They do not cover the configuration requirements within IAS or SuccessFactors, which mentioned in the above section. Those will need to be manually taken care of.
