3253096 - Issue Date in Sales Order

Symptom

You have identified a new field in the General section of the Sales Order called Issue Date.

Environment

SAP Business Bydesign

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to the Sales Orders work center.
  2. Select the Sales Orders view.
  3. Click New.
  4. Under the General section, Issue Date shows after Posting and Requested Date.

Resolution

Based on the help document Consignment Issue and Invoicing Process, the field works as follows:

In the Issue Date field of the sales order, provide the date on which the consumption of the consignment stock was reported. This date is used as the shipment date for Issue delivery and subsequently as the Invoice date.

When you create a consignment issue sales order, the issue date at the header level is defaulted to the current date of the sales order. When you add the issue items, the issue date from the header level automatically gets updated at the item level for the issue items. You can manually change the issue date at both levels. If the issue date is changed for an item, it is not affected by any further changes at the header level.

For existing sales orders, any change to the issue date at the header level does not affect the issue items. If new issue items are added, the issue date is defaulted to the creation date of the sales order.
