3253499 - When Cancel A Released Production Order, Error Triggered: Action failed; error while finishing tasks.

When you try to cancel a released production order whose production tasks are all not started, error is triggered as below:

"Action failed

 -----> Action failed; error while finishing tasks."

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to work center Production Control.
2. Go to view Production Orders.
3. Find production order ABC (ABC represents the production order ID), click Cancel, error is triggered as below:

        "Action failed

          -----> Action failed; error while finishing tasks".

When you cancel production order, system will cancel related inspection (Final inspection - production) together. It is not necessary to cancel the inspection before cancel production order.

For production order ABC, since related inspection is canceled already, when you cancel the production order,  system gives error as the cancel action attempts to cancel an already cancelled inspection document.

Please report an incident to SAP for back-end cancellation.
