When converting a lead to opportunity, the priority field value is not retained. Further, you see no option to maintain priority related settings.

Reproducing the Issue
- Go to the Sales work centre.
- Go to the Leads view.
- Create a new lead with priority urgent.
- Convert the lead to opportunity.
Result: the newly created opportunity has priority normal. You expected the priority to be copied from the lead.
The lead's priority urgent is no longer relevant once it was converted.
The Priority in Lead and Opportunity have different semantics and there they're not copied from one object to the next. This is not configurable and also cannot be changed due to compatibility reasons.
The scope for Opportunity Conversion only covers copying of NAME, SOURCE and GROUP from Lead to Opportunity. Priority is not in this scope and this cannot be enhanced in standard because it does not serve the business requirement for most of the customers.
The priority is defaulted to Normal during document creation and it can be influenced only in PDI as of now.
