To configure and use a custom date rule for service contract billing plans, follow these steps:

1. In the configuration activity "Define Date Types, Duration Types and Date Rules for Service Transactions (ID: 104300)", create a new date rule.
2. Maintain the required custom logic for the date rule according to your business requirements.
3. Assign the newly created date rule to a date profile in "Define Date Profile for Service Transactions (ID: 104301)".
4. Ensure the date profile is correctly assigned by maintaining the following configuration activities:
   • "Assign Date Profile to Transaction Types (ID: 104327)"
   • "Assign Date Profile to Item Categories in Service (ID: 104328)"
5. In the Service Contract, navigate to the Billing Plan tab and select the newly defined date rule in the Billing Date field (dropdown list).
