3255250 - How to label Product Types in SAP Sales Cloud CPQ quotes synced from S4 HANA

• Product Types are replicated from SAP S/4HANA into SAP CPQ (not manually created in CPQ).
• Due to the 9-character field length limitation in SAP S/4HANA for the field mapped to the Product Type field in CPQ, the Product Type values appear abbreviated in CPQ.
• When displaying the Product Type column in the Product Table within the Quote, the values are not descriptive and are difficult for end users to understand.
• Attempts to modify or relabel the Product Type values using Dictionaries in CPQ do not reflect any changes in the Quote Product Table.
• Requirement is to determine whether there is a way to display more descriptive labels for Product Type values in CPQ while maintaining the integration with S/4HANA.

SAP SALES CLOUD CPQ

• In the standard integration scenario, SAP CPQ does not support mapping or transforming Product Type values replicated from SAP S/4HANA into different or descriptive values within CPQ.
• The Product Type values are transferred as maintained in SAP S/4HANA and cannot be relabeled or overridden in CPQ (including via Dictionaries).
• If this functionality is required, it is considered a product enhancement request.
