3255304 - Error CKMLWIP052/055 happens in app Edit Actual Costing Run - SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Error CKMLWIP052/055 with app Edit Actual Costing Run, step Preparation step (or Settlement step).

CKMLWIP052 The WIP quantities for the material are inconsistent
CKMLWIP055 WIP quantities for the activity type/business process are inconsistent

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

It's normally caused by wrong sequence of WIP Calculation.
For example, it's for processing period end closing for period 9. Before execution of WIP Calculation for period 9, the execution of WIP Calculation for period 10 has been done.
This will generate inconsistency data in material ledger.

For the existing inconsistencies, create case with component CO-PC-ACT.
In the case, provide CB user and state the approval for SAP to make correction on the inconsistent data.
After the inconsistencies are fixed, in app Edit Actual Costing Run, run steps "Preparation" and "Settlement" with parameter "Process again".

To avoid this kind of error in the future, manage the CO periods strictly with app Manage Posting Periods - Cost Accounting. Make sure all the periods are closed for all the business transaction types except the period that you are processing.
