Environment

SAP Analytics Cloud, add-in for Microsoft Office

Resolution

In SAP Analytics Cloud, add-in for Microsoft Office product, tenants with the standard domain hcs.cloud.sap can be used without any additional configuration. However, tenants of domains sapanalytics.cloud and hanacloudservices.cloud.sap must be manually configured by the Microsoft365 administrator.

For the step-by-step of how to configure tenants with a non-standard domain, like sapanalytics.cloud and hanacloudservices.cloud.sap, refer to chapter "Tenant Configuration".

Troubleshooting:

  1. Open the PowerShell and connect to your Microsoft365 tenant by running the command Connect-OrganizationAddInService and authenticate with a Microsoft365 administrator;
  2. Run the following command: Get-OrganizationAddInOverrides -ProductId 8a512e2b-c04e-4c06-9235-11b6cd59f584
  3. Confirm that your SAC tenant URL(s) is listed in "AppDomains" in the output, like in the example below:

    Output.png

  4. Confirm that the add-in was centrally deployed by following the steps below:
      1. Go to Excel Insert -> Office Add-ins / My Add-ins;
      2. Go to ADMIN MANAGED and confirm that the add-in is there as shown below:

        Admin Managed.png

        Note
        : If the user loaded the add-in directly from Store, the add-in will appear under "MY ADD-INS" tab as shown below. In this case, it must be removed and deployed via "ADMIN MANAGED" in order to apply the tenant configuration.

  5. If your "AppDomains" is correctly set in output of step 3 and your Add-in centrally deployed as per step 4, then you can check if this correct AppDomain configuration is actually loaded in your Excel. For this, open your browser in private/incognito mode and logon to Excel Online. If the issue persists in incognito mode, open the dev tools in your browser (typically by pressing F12) and check the local storage of the Excel app. The detailed steps below are based on a Chrome as an example:

    1. Go to "Application"
    2. Select the local storage of the Excel app. Typically this is a domain on *.officeapps.live.com
    3. Search for 8a512e2b-c04e-4c06-9235-11b6cd59f584
    4. Select key "_OSF_PRIVATECATALOG_ADDINS"
    5. Check that the latest version of the add-in is used. The latest version number of the add-in can be found here: https://appsource.microsoft.com/de-de/product/office/WA200000169?tab=DetailsAndSupport
    6. Check that the storeId is set to WA200000169.
    7. Select key "_OSF_PRIVATECATALOG_MANIFEST"
    8. Copy the add-in content and paste it to a text editor
    9. Search for "AppDomains" and check that if it contains your SAP Analytics Cloud tenant URL

         If the AppDomain configured in MS Store is not loaded to your Excel Online, then raise a ticket to Microsoft.
